about

San Diego Shoe Shine is a family owned business established in San Diego in 1989.  Cristobal “Cris” Virgen, founder, knows the ins and outs of the shoe shine business like no other.

“If you look good, you feel good,” he says.

For more than 28 years, Cris has been providing quality shoe shine services to thousands of customers in the greater San Diego area. From his humble beginnings in Nayarit, Mexico, Cris developed a unique polishing style that will leave even the oldest pair of shoes looking new.

Known for delivering a top of the line shine, many consider Cris “the best in the business.” Above all, his charismatic personality, friendly customer service and attention to detail are what make him the right man for the job, but you don’t have to take our word for it.

Cris is excellent at his craft. He pays attention to his customers, learns their names, interests, and things about their family, which makes you feel welcomed and want to return. Basically, he does everything right. I wholeheartedly endorse him!”

Having a pair of shined shoes will make every person feel like a professional in their industries. Each time I go see Cris my shoes come out looking like new. I’ve tried other shoe shine places in the past, but they can never do as good a job as him.”
— Michael Busico, Certified Financial Planner
Cris has been taking care of my Italian boots and dress shoes for more than 18 years. In all of my experience, I have never found anyone so dependable and customer service oriented. I have recommended him to many people and everyone has been very pleased.”
— Jerry, Hotel Executive
I spent a number of years in the Army and shined my own shoes for more than 20 years. In 2006, I noticed that one of my colleagues had an immaculate shine. Though I was skeptical at first, I went to see Cris and without a doubt in my mind he is the best in the business.”
— Joe, Financial Services Professional
Cris is nothing short of a doctor and an artist. He has, on many occasions, revived my nearly dead shoes and created almost new masterpieces. He is a magician.
